Skye P. Marshall has a lot to say about Matlock‘s second season.

Marshall caught up with PEOPLE at the PEOPLE App launch party at the Chelsea Hotel in New York City on April 29. During the conversation, the actress opened up about Matlock‘s season 1 cliffhanger — and fan reactions about the reveal of who stole the Wellbrexa documents.

“I get snatched on the street, like, ‘Sis, I was praying it wasn’t you. I’m so happy it wasn’t you. But what are you going to do?’ ” says Marshall, 43. “And I’m like, ‘I can’t tell you. I don’t even know.’ We’re all impatiently waiting for the first script of season two.”

The actress, who plays ultra-focused attorney Olympia at the fictional Jacobson Moore law firm, went on to joke that she has put an “air tag” on the showrunner’s car in order to track when she’s back in the writer’s room.

Predicting how Olympia will handle all the new information she learned in the season finale, Marshall says, “I think that Olympia is for the people. And I think that — I believe that — Olympia is going to do what’s right. But it’s not going to go down easy. She’s about to bring hell in Jacobson Moore. Oh yeah. And I cannot wait.”

The actress also revealed that she got emotional at the last table read of the season, saying that she probably had the “craziest” reaction of the cast.

“I started crying when Leah Lewis [who plays Sarah] did her opening remarks for the jury, because she so patiently was wanting to get her moment in the courtroom, and I really wanted Leah to get that opportunity,” Marshall shares.

“And so for it to be the finale, we were just so thrilled for her, so when she … She was asking me for feedback and notes on how to work the courtroom, and so when she started reading it, she looked at me and … but I was so overwhelmed with joy and I was just so happy for her.”

Marshall, who said the show begins filming the second season in July, also told PEOPLE that working with Kathy Bates has been the highlight of her career.

“I call her my sis-star,” Marshall says of Bates.
