Tina Knowles can always count on Keke Palmer.
The businesswoman, 71, suffered a wardrobe malfunction during the Los Angeles stop of her Matriarch memoir book tour on Friday, May 2, during which the Nope actress, 31, served as a special guest and moderator.
In a TikTok video shared by a fan, Knowles could be seen holding up her silver strapless sparkling gown, seemingly attempting to prevent the dress from falling off her body.
Palmer, in a denim ensemble, then stood up from her chair and went over to Knowles, asking, “Is this it?” before another woman came onstage to provide a style assist.

“They was acting like it was a whole murder show,” Palmer next joked, mimicking some of the facial expressions she said she saw from event staff in reaction to Knowles’ wardrobe malfunction.
“I thought it was serious,” she continued. “I saw the teleprompter [start] typing, ‘We need something.’ The hell do y’all mean? They went in for no reason.”

As Palmer kept cracking jokes, Knowles — who is a mom to daughters Beyoncé and Solange — continued to adjust her wardrobe with an assist, before the duo got back into their conversation.
“Glad that’s over,” Palmer remarked, adding: “They was gonna give me a heart attack. Whew! So back to the book.”

Knowles is currently on tour promoting her new memoir, which follows her from her youth and her rise as a business owner, according to an official synopsis.
It also includes snippets of her guiding daughter Beyoncé, 43, along with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams as the girl group Destiny’s Child, to “global commercial success,” the synopsis adds.
Knowles’ book tour kicked off on April 30 in Washington, D.C., with Michelle Obama. She is next scheduled to head to Houston, Texas, for a panel moderated by Rowland, 44. The book tour will then conclude in London on June 4.
