After backlash from his CBS interview, Belichick defended his girlfriend shutting down a question about how they met
Bill Belichick and Jordon Hudson are going strong.
A source close to the couple exclusively tells PEOPLE that the UNC football coach, 73, is totally enamored by Hudson, 24, who he first met in April 2021.
“They’re really into each other,” says the source. “He’s totally hypnotized by her and completely under her spell.”
Hudson and Belichick’s relationship made headlines this week when the former college cheerleader shut down a question about how they met during Belichick’s interview with CBS Sunday Mornings on April 27. “We’re not talking about this,” Hudson interjected after reporter, Tony Dokoupil asked Belichick about the first meeting.
Dokoupil described Hudson as a “constant presence” during the segment taping.

After the interruption from Hudson sparked backlash on social media, Belichick released a statement defending his girlfriend. “She was not deflecting any specific question or topic but simply doing her job to ensure the interview stayed on track,” he said.
“Some of the clips make it appear as though we were avoiding the question of how we met, but we have been open about the fact that Jordon and I met on a flight to Palm Beach in 2021.”

But despite the uproar, the couple is going strong. Belichick has “never been happier,” than he is with Hudson, another source told PEOPLE on Wednesday.
“Bill doesn’t care about all the talk surrounding his and Jordon’s relationship,” the insider said. “He’s never been happier than he is with Jordon. She brings a positive energy, and people haven’t seen him this relaxed and laidback in a while.”

Belichick and Hudson were first spotted together in January 2023. The couple were seen walking through the French Quarter in New Orleans, and in September of the same year, they were again spotted in the city on a dinner date.
In December, the couple made their red carpet debut at The Museum Gala — an annual charity event held by the American Museum of Natural History in N.Y.C. Hudson said the evening was “saturated with all of my favorite things: friendship, education, philanthropy, glamour, beet salad, Billy, dance-worthy music, ornithological & oceanic exhibits” in an Instagram caption.
