While the days of JoJo Siwa and Kath Ebbs’s romance are gone, the back-and-forth between the former flames has taken over our social feeds in the aftermath.
In case you need a quick refresh, JoJo recently appeared as a housemate on Celebrity Big Brother U.K., where she quickly bonded with former Love Islander, Chris Hughes. Their chemistry set the internet ablaze, with dedicated TikTok edits and fans pointing out that they couldn’t be more than friends…because JoJo had a significant other in Kath at home. Fast forward to now: JoJo and Kath have officially split, and the Australian content creator alleged that the “Karma” singer had “emotionally cheated” on them with Chris during her time on Big Brother in a since-deleted TikTok.
JoJo has said multiple times now that Chris had “absolutely nothing” to do with the end of her relationship with Kath, but revealed that drama ensued at the show’s wrap party, where Kath had reportedly confronted her and they called it quits. In a bombshell interview with Us Weekly, JoJo has provided more clarity on their breakup and what really went down.
“I had a lot of talks with my ex about that and we cleared it up. They said that out of anger and frustration, but they also know that’s not true,” the Dance Moms alum said of Kath’s allegations that she had cheated on them.
JoJo, who uses all pronouns, added, “I think that was very uncool of them and I was very honest with them about that. There’s a hundred reasons why my breakup happened and I’ve talked those through with my ex and I’ve talked those through with the people in my life. And so I can confidently say I love Christopher so very much but he had absolutely nothing to do with my breakup. There’s no muddy water there at all. Zero.”
The multihyphenate also commented on Kath’s accusation that she lovebombed her, saying, “It’s a crazy concept for me because the same person that may have said that I love-bombed them also asked me to book them a business class flight home.”
“So I don’t know if I am generous or if I love-bomb. I think it’s maybe a little bit of a mix of both? I think sometimes I look for a quick thing to make somebody very happy,” she continued. “Maybe I need to cool it on that, but I don’t think I love-bomb. I think I just love, and I love full-heartedly. I also think love-bombing is a very new term and saying it is so dramatic.”
As for JoJo and Chris, they still remain good friends through it all. During an appearance on U.K. talk show This Morning, Chris said, “I think our friendship is just a really strong bond between two people, it’s just a strong friendship. I think you can have a soulmate friendship. I think that’s a thing.”
According to JoJo, romance isn’t in the cards for them—for now, anyway. “I don’t know any future of anything, but I’m really grateful for our dynamic that we have and our bond that we have. And whatever life does, life will do,” she said.
