Dave Portnoy has entered the chat.
During a recent appearance on the The Unnamed Show podcast released on Thursday, May 1, the Barstool Sports CEO pushed back on some of the recent criticism Jordon Hudson, 24, has been receiving following her now-infamous CBS Sunday Morning interview with her 73-year-old boyfriend, Bill Belichick.
As he talked about wanting to have Belichick on his own podcast a while back, he recalled that his first interaction with the UNC football coach’s girlfriend occurred during a speaking event.
“I had met Jordon and it was clear that she ran the show,” Portnoy said of Hudson on the podcast. “She managed… we both were together at a speaking gig, she just ran the show. It was very obvious.”
The podcast co-host, Ryan Whitney, then asked Portnoy about Hudson’s personality during their initial encounter, to which he remained neutral, noting he would likely run into both of them in the near future.

“No. I don’t know what’s going on,” the media mogul said of Hudson. “Let me put it this way — I know her and I know him and I’m going to see them, I’m sure, in Nantucket. She sees everything that is said. Am I afraid of her? No.”
He added, “Am I going to sit here and go out and say that she’s the craziest person I’ve ever seen? No, because I don’t want it to be awkward when I’m carrying my watermelon from Stop & Shop and I f—— bump into her.”
At one point, he argued that Hudson was actually being a savvy businesswoman following public backlash, noting how she’s been “taking control of the situation.”
“She’s the boss woman of this mythical Bill Belichick Enterprises,” he said. “Like she’s not hiding. Like something bad happens, she takes a selfie and she’s right back firing emails. She’s not taking a step back.”
Portnoy’s comments come in the wake of Hudson interrupting Belichick’s CBS Sunday Morning interview to shut down a question about how the couple met, which was conducted by journalist Tony Dokoupil.
“We’re not talking about this,” Hudson, who was sitting off-camera in the studio, said sternly. Dokoupil turned to her and asked, “No?”
“No,” she doubled down, resulting in a visibly awkward moment. In a voiceover during the Sunday Morning segment, Dokoupil moves on from the silent pause by stating, “It’s a topic neither one of them is comfortable commenting on.”

The interview aftermath sent social media into a tizzy, prompting memes and headlines in reaction to the viral moment. Amid the backlash, Hudson shared on Instagram a screenshot of her boyfriend’s email conversation.
“Full statement to be released later today,” Hudson wrote, alongside the screenshot that appeared to be a his message to his book publishers, explaining his concerns over the promotion for his new memoir, The Art of Winning: Lessons from a Life in Football.

The longtime NFL coach seemed upset in the email about an article that focused more on his admission that he “f—– up” in a Super Bowl over the “260+ pages” of other topics in the book.
Meanwhile, speculation about how the couple met has since been amplified, especially since Hudson has previously made mention of the topic. She reemphasized that with a repost on April 29.
On her Instagram Stories, Hudson reshared a previous post from her feed uploaded on Feb. 11, which she dubbed as their “meetiversary.” The original post featured a video of a book with a note from Belichick with a caption that alluded to how they met.
