Olivia Munn truly does it all!
At the PEOPLE App launch event on Tuesday, April 29, the actress, 44, opened up about how she and husband John Mulaney balance marriage, parenting two children and their careers. Ultimately, Munn admits that life is often a juggling act.
“We’ll steal little moments throughout the day to just talk,” she explains of how she and Mulaney prioritize their relationship. “Or, a lot of times, it’s in the car. When I’m driving somewhere, he’s driving somewhere, we will just get on the phone and just talk and catch up like that.”
“But it’s a little tough right now because we’re both so busy,” she adds. “I’m filming season two [of Your Friends and Neighbors] and he’s doing his Netflix show [Everybody’s Live]. But I think from this moment forward, we stay together as a family.”

Munn reveals that the past month, she and the comedian, 42, were working opposite schedules, so they did what they could to support one another from afar. Even when they are less busy, she says that being parents occupies most of their time.
“John said the other day that he hasn’t watched anything adult besides my show, now that it’s airing, in we don’t know how long,” she jokes. “Because we only watched Daniel Tiger’s [Neighborhood] at my house. It’s only Daniel Tiger, which is an amazing program for kids, but…”
After long days at work, Munn shares that her outlet to decompress is meditation.
“I was having a hard time meditating for a long time, because I know how good it is, and I would kind of roll my eyes at people telling me they’re meditating,” she recalls. “And then someone said to me, ‘If you don’t have even 10 minutes a day for yourself, then God help you.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, yeah. I’ll make 10 minutes.’ So I do that.”

“I’ve been back and forth,” she explains. “I was in New York on Sunday, in LA last night, then a red-eye, stayed back, to New York. And when I got into the house in New York — I brought my kids back to our home in California yesterday — so I came back here today, and it was so nice to walk into an empty house.”
“I love my children so much. I love my husband. But just to be able to go in,” she continues. “I took my shoes off. I was like, I’m going to go crawl into bed. I’m not going to set my alarm. My children are safe. Everything’s fine. I turned off notifications and I slept.”

The X-Men: Apocalypse star and the Saturday Night Live alum have known each other for over a decade, but they weren’t romantically linked until 2021. Later that year, Munn gave birth to the couple’s first child, son Malcolm.
In 2024, they got married over the Fourth of July weekend in New York, and welcomed their second child, daughter Méi, via surrogate shortly after.
