Dorit Kemsley will always have a friend in Kyle Richards.
While attending An Unforgettable Evening in Beverly Hills on Monday, April 28, Richards, 56, exclusively gave Parade an update on her relationship with Kemsley after news of the latter’s divorce filing broke last week. The event, which honored Olivia Munn, also benefited the Women’s Cancer Research Fund.

“I sent her a text to check on her, and other than that, I haven’t seen her,” she says. “It’s sad anytime the family’s broken up, and I know firsthand that it’s difficult and challenging. It hurts me because I just love her and her whole family. I care about all of them, so I just hate to see that.”
When asked if Kemsley, 48, responded to her text, the Halloween actress tells Parade that at the time, she hadn’t heard back yet.
“Last I checked she had not, but that’s okay,” Richards adds. “I know in these situations, your phone’s blowing up. Trust me, I know from experience.”

Dorit and estranged husband Paul “PK” Kemsley first announced their separation in a since-expired joint statement in May last year after nine years of marriage.
Bravo fans saw the aftermath of the former couple’s split play out during Season 14 of RHOBH, which finished airing in April and also showcased Dorit and Richards’ strained friendship. That same month, Dorit officially filed for divorce from PK, 57, just days after he was spotted getting cozy with former Amazing Race contestant Shana Wall.
