There are couples in Hollywood that coordinate their looks together, and there are couples in Hollywood that simply don’t. When you have two people with their own distinct senses of style, like Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco, it makes sense that they would fall in the latter category.
Shortly after the pair showed off two different takes on date-night denim, they once again put their mismatched couple’s style front and center for a round of appearances in New York City on Thursday. The couple stopped by The Tonight Show, where Gomez stepped onto the stage wearing a vintage dress from Mugler’s 1981 couture collection. The black velvet piece—which has also been worn by Natalie Portman and Sydney Sweeney over the years—features a sculptural off-the-shoulder neckline and a tiered peplum attachment on the waist. Gomez paired the dress with transparent black tights and glossy black Louboutin pumps.
As for her fiancé? Blanco accompanied the singer in a pair of ripped blue jeans—but not just any jeans. Blanco’s bottoms were artfully embroidered with white floral illustrations and pearl beads. He finished off his ensemble with a white tee, a sequined lavender collared shirt, black boots, a metallic silver belt, and layers of gold chain necklaces.
Gomez was also seen earlier that day in another all-black ensemble. She slipped into a black leather jacket-and-skirt set with golden chain trim along the edges. Underneath the jacket, she wore a basic black turtleneck top.
Blanco and Gomez are currently promoting their first joint album together as a couple, I Said I Love You First, which officially dropped today.
