Jessica Chastain isn’t here for super revealing clothing.
Chastain, 48, opened up to Elle Spain about her thoughts on fashion trends and got candid about hating one in particular that came back into style.
“I know this is coming back, but the low-rise jeans I hate,” she said. “And I hate when you see someone’s underwear. I think it’s so tacky, like, when it’s like a G-string. I think it’s horrific.”
The actress went on to name another trend she’s not into: “The shorts where your butt hangs out.”

Low-rise jeans came back in style in the early 2020s after taking a decade-long hiatus. Stars including Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera and more slayed the look in the 2000s and 2010s.
“Yea, I’m into full-coverage clothing,” Chastain quipped, adding that she hopes people don’t “ever bring that back.”
When it comes to trends Chastain does want to bring back, she doesn’t necessarily follow the status quo.
“I don’t really pay attention to fashion trends in that way,” she explained. “If there was a trend that I’d secretly wish would come back, I would just wear it. I don’t feel like, ‘Oh, I’m not allowed to wear that because people say.’ So I don’t really have one of those. I kind of just wear what I like.”
While she’s not into revealing too much of her body, Chastain’s red carpet style is nonetheless sexy.

In February 2024, she rocked an embellished Gucci dress at the Dreams premiere during the Berlin International Film Festival. The rose gold gown featured a strapless neckline that cascaded into a sequin silhouette adorned with sheer lace cutouts. The design perfectly showed off her curves as it hugged her body. The Interstellar star teamed the look with a feathered cape.
