Beyoncé’s Cowboy Carter Tour is off to a stylish start.

The superstar, 43, opened the tour on Monday, April 28, at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, taking the stage in a Western ensemble inspired by her Grammy-winning 2024 country album. Styling by Shiona Turini, the custom white leather Mugler look featured a corseted bodysuit and matching buckled chaps showcasing 1,740 laser-cut bonded fringes.

Of course, the “16 Carriages” singer also wore a cowboy hat. Her long, icy blonde hair was styled into bouncy curls that cascaded down around her shoulders.

Beyoncé opened the nearly three-hour show with Cowboy Carter‘s first track, “Ameriican Requiem.” The set consisted of over 35 songs, and the singer’s three children were all featured, including a rare home video of son Sir, 7.

Sir’s twin sister Rumi — who made her album debut on the Cowboy Carter track “Protector” — appeared in person, joining both her mom and 13-year-old big sister Blue Ivy onstage. In videos shared on social media, 7-year-old Rumi is seen in a gold sparkly feather dress with matching cowboy boots.

Meanwhile, Blue Ivy, who also performed as a back-up dancer during her mom’s Renaissance Tour in 2023, appeared throughout the show, dancing behind Beyoncé and Rumi in a sparkly gray ensemble that matched her mom’s Cowboy Carter-themed bodysuit with matching chaps.

At one point during the Cowboy Carter show, Beyoncé performed in a color-changing dress that appeared to be controlled by lights. In a video shared by Pop Base, the singer’s long-sleeve gown starts out half blue and half red before changing to fully red with flashing lights forming dots. The color changes again to a dark blue and the light pattern becomes more intricate.

Beyoncé previously opened up about touring with her family in an interview with GQ in October 2024.

“One thing I’ve worked extremely hard on is making sure my kids can have as much normalcy and privacy as possible, ensuring my personal life isn’t turned into a brand,” The 35-time Grammy winner shared. “It’s very easy for celebrities to turn our lives into performance art.”

“I try to only tour when my kids are out of school,” she added. “I always dreamt of a life where I could see the world with my family and expose them to different languages, architecture and lifestyles.”
