The Atlanta Hawks extended their NBA-best winning streak to nine games with a 122-99 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks, powered by CJ McCollum’s 30 points and Jalen Johnson’s 12th triple-double of the season. The Bucks, missing Giannis Antetokounmpo due to an ankle injury, struggled to keep pace as the Hawks broke the game open in the third quarter.

McCollum scores 30, Johnson has a triple-double as the Hawks beat the Bucks for 9th straight win

The Atlanta Hawks continued their dominant run through the NBA with a convincing 122-99 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks on Saturday night, marking their ninth consecutive win and the longest current streak in the league.

CJ McCollum led the scoring charge with 30 points, draining seven 3-pointers in the process. This performance also moved him past Paul Pierce into 16th place on the NBA’s all-time 3-pointers made list, now sitting at 2,147.

Jalen Johnson added a triple-double with 23 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds, his 12th of the season, showcasing his versatility and impact on both ends of the floor.

The Hawks controlled the first half, leading 60-52 at the break after a back-and-forth contest with six lead changes and four ties. They then unleashed a devastating third quarter, outscoring the Bucks 35-26, with McCollum contributing 11 points in the period to break the game open.

For the Bucks, Ryan Rollins led with 22 points, while Kevin Porter Jr. chipped in 18 points, seven rebounds, and seven assists. However, the team was without their two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who sprained his left ankle during Milwaukee’s 112-105 loss to Miami on Thursday [Associated Press][Associated Press].

Nickeil Alexander-Walker added 20 points for the Hawks, while Dyson Daniels returned from a one-game absence due to a toe sprain and contributed eight points, seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Jonathan Kuminga was ruled out with a knee injury, missing his third game in the last four for Atlanta.

The Hawks’ winning streak began with a 115-104 victory over the Brooklyn Nets on February 22 and has since showcased the team’s depth and resilience, with key players stepping up in the face of injuries.

Atlanta will host the Orlando Magic on Monday night, while the Bucks return home to face the Indiana Pacers on Sunday afternoon.

This win further solidifies the Hawks as a rising force in the Eastern Conference. Johnson‘s development into a consistent triple-double threat and McCollum‘s veteran shooting have been instrumental. For Milwaukee, the absence of Giannis highlights the need for greater depth and reliability when their superstar is unavailable. The Bucks must find ways to generate offense and defense at an elite level without their primary option if they hope to contend for a championship.
