Nicholas Braun opens up about his style journey, from sagging pants as a teen to embracing Bonobos’ tailored fits, and how his post-‘Succession’ wardrobe reflects his personal growth.
Nicholas Braun has come a long way from his teenage years of sagging pants to starring in a Bonobos campaign that highlights his perfectly tailored look. The 37-year-old actor, best known for his role as Cousin Greg in Succession, shared his style journey in an exclusive interview with People.
The Struggle with Height and Style
Braun recalled the challenges he faced as a teenager, especially after a growth spurt that left him struggling to find clothes that fit his 6’7″ frame. “As a teenager, I was really sagging my pants a lot,” he admitted. “I think that was my main way to keep my pants not too short. It was hard to keep up with getting taller at super speed.”
His discovery of Bonobos during college was a game-changer. “I think they make great stuff, and I’ve been buying their stuff for a long time,” he said. This long-standing appreciation for the brand made his recent collaboration on their newest campaign a natural fit.
The Bonobos Campaign
The campaign, which showcases Bonobos’ Original Chino and the new Original Pleated Chino, features Braun in a New York City coffee shop, drawing a parallel between finding the perfect pair of pants and the perfect cappuccino. “They’re just like a fun, good vibe of a brand. They’re not taking themselves too seriously,” Braun noted.

Braun emphasized the importance of fit, especially for taller individuals. “For a tall guy, it’s hard to find pants that aren’t too short. And so I don’t even think we had to do anything,” he shared, highlighting the brand’s commitment to catering to different body types.
Post-Succession Style Shift
With Succession wrapping in 2023, Braun has shifted his style to reflect his personal growth. “I feel like during Succession, I was wearing more serious stuff, and that kind of felt right while we were making that show. It’s nice to kind of switch it up now,” he explained. His current wardrobe leans towards a more casual vibe, a departure from the sharply dressed cousin Greg.

Despite the shift, Braun has held onto some meaningful pieces from his time on the show, though he admits they’re not in regular rotation. “I have some suits from the early days, but they’re not really being worn,” he said. “It feels weird to go to a wedding or something and be wearing a Greg suit.”
Braun’s style evolution is a testament to his growth, both as an actor and as an individual. From sagging pants to tailored fits, his journey reflects a deeper understanding of personal style and the importance of fit.
