Odessa A’zion’s Breakout Year: From ‘Marty Supreme’ to ‘I Love LA’ and Beyond

Odessa A’zion is having a breakout moment with standout roles in Marty Supreme and HBO’s I Love LA, showcasing her range and talent in two vastly different characters. Here’s why she’s the actor to watch in 2026.

A Star is Born: Odessa A’zion’s Rise to Fame

Odessa A’zion is having a moment. The 25-year-old actress has catapulted into the spotlight with her dual roles in Marty Supreme and HBO’s hit sitcom I Love LA. Her journey to stardom hasn’t been overnight, but her recent success is a testament to her talent and perseverance.

A’zion’s breakout roles come after years of hard work, with many of her previous projects releasing during the COVID-19 pandemic or the Hollywood strikes, limiting her ability to promote them. Now, she’s finally getting the recognition she deserves.

The Art of Deception: Rachel in ‘Marty Supreme’

In Marty Supreme, A’zion plays Rachel, a pet shop clerk who gets pregnant by her longtime friend Marty Mauser, played by Timothée Chalamet. At first glance, Rachel appears to be a mousy wallflower, but the audience soon discovers that she’s been playing Marty at his own game.

“When does an actor ever get to have seven emotional turns in one scene?” A’zion marvels. “You’re angry, you’re lying, you’re fake-crying, you’re problem-solving – and then it turns out you’ve actually been scheming this whole time. It was the most satisfying scene.”

From Wallflower to Wild Child: Tallulah in ‘I Love LA’

On the surface, Rachel is night and day from A’zion’s TV counterpart Tallulah, the hard-partying influencer she portrays on I Love LA. Created by and starring Rachel Sennott, the comedy follows a group of friends trying to make it in Hollywood.

“Tallulah was really hard because she’s so different from me, but I connect to both characters,” A’zion says. “What I love is that they are super-strong and take no bull—-. Sure, Tallulah may seem more airhead-y, but she’s just as calculated as Rachel in ‘Marty Supreme’ is.”

A Unique Approach to Acting

A’zion’s unique approach to acting has set her apart in Hollywood. She’s always gravitated toward the dark and unusual, with favorite movies like “Rosemary’s Baby” and “Harold and Maude.” She even named her pet tortoises after the latter.

Her audition for Marty Supreme was a testament to her unconventional methods. She taped her audition in a phone booth with a weird angle, embracing the dirty and messy aesthetic that felt right for the character.

What’s Next for Odessa A’zion?

A’zion is just getting started. She’s set to voice a new character in Netflix’s Stranger Things animated spinoff Tales from ’85, and she’s eager to start production on I Love LA Season 2.

“I hope that Tallulah gets into some more messy s— because that’s my favorite type of thing to do,” A’zion says. “I’m just excited to go back and work with everyone again. I feel very, very lucky.”
