Turner Allen, 4, has gone viral on TikTok for his emotional reaction to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s engagement news
The boy, who looks nearly identical to a young version of the NFL star, said “it’s not fair” that he doesn’t get to marry the singer
“I really didn’t expect Turner to have much of a reaction at all, but he just burst into tears and had a complete meltdown!” Turner’s mother, Courtney Allen, tells PEOPLE
While most of the world was cheering for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce after they announced their engagement, one little boy felt cheated.
Not long after the couple of two years shared their enchanting proposal photos via Instagram on Aug. 26, Courtney Allen, 37, broke the news to her 4-year-old son, Turner Allen, who didn’t take it so well.
“POV: when your 4-year-old finds out Travis Kelce stole his girl,” Courtney wrote in a text overlay on a video of her son’s emotional reaction, which has more than 2.1 million views and about 340,000 likes on TikTok since being posted on Wednesday, Aug. 27. She added in the caption: “He just wants a love story, Taylor 🥺💔.”
In the clip, a crying Turner — who bears a striking resemblance to the NFL star when he was younger — repeatedly said in between sniffles, “I want to get married to Taylor Swift,” before lamenting that “it’s not fair” how the Kansas City Chiefs player gets to marry the pop star, both 35, instead of him.
Courtney tells PEOPLE that Turner has “always just really loved music” since he was a baby, and that he often listened to songs by Swift.
“When your mom and big sister are constantly blasting Taylor, you really don’t have a choice but to become a fan!” Courtney says. “I would say he started jamming out with us and singing along to Taylor’s music specifically when he was about 2 years old.”
To Courtney, Turner’s devastation to the engagement news “completely came out of nowhere” because she had “no clue” that Turner wanted to marry Swift — and the 4-year-old has still yet to tell her why.
“I couldn’t wait to tell my daughter about their engagement that day because we always love to hear exciting news about Taylor. I really didn’t expect Turner to have much of a reaction at all, but he just burst into tears and had a complete meltdown!” Courtney says.
“In the video, I told him Travis was going to marry her because I thought he liked Travis!” she continues, adding, “He even wanted to be Travis for Halloween at one point last year (he later changed his mind)… but apparently, they are no longer on good terms.”
TikTok users were sympathetic toward Turner, with the official Bluey account even commenting, “How very dare he 😭.” In another video, Bluey wrote, “Sending Turner BIG Heeler hugs 🤗🤗.”
However, the top comment with over 63,000 likes was actually about Turner’s physical appearance. “He lowkey looks like little Travis tho,” a user wrote, garnering hundreds of replies agreeing with them.

Kelce’s mother, Donna, recently changed her cover photo on Facebook to this throwback image next to a shot of Swift as a kid amid the engagement news.
“It’s crazy!” Courtney shares of her son’s resemblance to Kelce. “That never occurred to me because I’ve never seen a photo of Travis as a kid, but there’s definitely a resemblance there! It’s funny though because Turner is an exact copy/paste of his dad at that age, like when you compare photos it actually looks like the same kid.”
