Former NFL quarterback Jay Cutler accepted a plea deal on Tuesday in a Tennessee courtroom after he was arrested on a DUI charge last fall.

Cutler pleaded guilty to one charge of driving under the influence, according to WSMV. As a result of his plea deal, a weapon possession charge he was initially hit with was dismissed — though Cutler will forfeit the gun in question. He will spend four days in jail, which he will do next month, and pay a $350 fine, among other things.

Cutler allegedly rear-ended another vehicle with his truck last October in Franklin, Tennessee, which sits about a half hour south of Nashville. Officers said he was slurring his words and refused field sobriety tests, though he later had a blood sample taken at a local hospital through a warrant. Cutler allegedly tried to offer the other driver $2,000 to not call the police. Officers later found a rifle and a loaded pistol in the center console of Cutler’s truck.

Cutler was initially charged with DUI, failure to exercise due care to avoid a collision, implied consent and possession of a handgun while under the influence. The remaining charges were dismissed through his plea deal on Tuesday. Cutler will be on unsupervised probation for one year and he must attend a DUI safety class. His license was also revoked.

Cutler spent 12 seasons in the league, first with the Denver Broncos who selected him with the No. 11 overall pick in 2006 out of Vanderbilt. Cutler then spent eight seasons leading the Chicago Bears and one with the Miami Dolphins before he retiring in 2018.
