The final major of the tennis season is already underway at the U.S. Open, which is set to start its singles and doubles competition this weekend at Flushing Meadows in New York.

Those standing at the end will see an increase in prize money as tournament organizers announced the largest purse in history, which stands at $90 million, a 20% increase from last year.

Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori have already won the mixed doubles title at the U.S. Open and took the $1 million prize.

Last year, the purse was $75 million, with men’s and women’s singles champions, Jannik Sinner and Aryna Sabalenka, each earning $3.6 million apiece. Both are the top seeds at this year’s tournament.
