John Stamos Shares Update on Dave Coulier’s Health After Cancer Battle originally appeared on Parade.
John Stamos — otherwise known as “Uncle Jesse” — has remained close to with his Full House co-star Dave Coulier, especially in the months following Coulier’s cancer diagnosis last year.
In a new cover-story interview with Us, Stamos, 62, was happy to report that “Uncle Joey,” 65, is doing well after his cancer battle.
“Dave and I talk a lot,” said Stamos in the interview published Tuesday, Aug. 19. “You know, we lost Bob [Saget], and I couldn’t bear losing Dave, so I’ve been with him a lot during this cancer journey of his.”
Bob Saget, as Full House fans will recall, tragically died in 2022 at age 65.
According to Stamos, Coulier is “100% back to Dave” after he was diagnosed with stage III non-Hodgkin lymphoma last year, going on to reveal his health scare to People in November 2024.
“It’s great to see that the treatments work,” the General Hospital alum told Us about Coulier. “And it’s great to see him out there talking about it, to help other people that are going through the same thing.”
As Coulier explained to People last year, he received his cancer diagnosis after seeking treatment for what he thought was an upper respiratory infection, resulting in swollen lymph nodes.
“Three days later, my doctors called me back and they said, ‘We wish we had better news for you, but you have non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma and it’s called B cell and it’s very aggressive'” he told People at the time. “I went from, I got a little bit of a head cold to I have cancer, and it was pretty overwhelming. This has been a really fast roller-coaster ride of a journey.”
Five months later, however, Coulier revealed he was in remission after a biopsy confirmed that he was cancer-free.
“One of the few times in my life when ‘zero’ has been a great number to hear,” he said in his March cover-story interview for Parade.
