Debbe Dunning had big shoes to fill when she stepped in to replace Pamela Anderson in Home Improvement, but she was perfect for the job. Dunning’s still beautiful at 59, but she’s nearly unrecognizable from her days on the sitcom.
The former beauty queen looked stunning during a recent appearance at Cedric the Entertainer’s 12th Annual Celebrity Golf Classic on August 10. Dunning traded her “Tool Time Girl” look for something a little bit more contemporary. Her big teased hair is gone, replaced with long waves. Instead of the flirty work-shop outfit she donned as Heidi on Home Improvement, she wore a wide-brimmed hat, gold chains, and a button-down blouse. She was giving more Western chic as opposed to the ‘90s girl fans used to drool over. Dunning looked more grounded and mature, and it seemed she has leaned into her outdoorsy lifestyle after years hosting her Dude Ranch Roundup series on RFDTV, which was later rebranded as the Cowboy Channel.
Her Time as the Tool Time Girl
Anderson starred as the original “Tool Time Girl” for the first two seasons of Home Improvement. However, when she was offered the role of C.J. Parker on Baywatch, Anderson’s schedules on both shows couldn’t overlap and she opted to spend her time on the beach instead of in a garage. Dunning actually first appeared in a very small role as a character named Kiki, but when Anderson left for Baywatch, the producers had loved Dunning so much they asked her to return. She stepped in as Heidi in season 3 in 1993 and she remained in the role all the way to the season finale in 1999.

What Debbe Dunning Is Doing Now
Dunning married Olympic volleyball player Steve Timmons in 1997, and they welcomed three children during their marriage before they split in 2018. After the divorce, the Leprechaun 4 star stepped away from Hollywood and decided to focus on raising her children outside of the spotlight. These days, Dunning spends her time as a lifestyle influencer and DIY guru.
