The 60-year-old actor recently revealed on TikTok how his childhood acting career intertwined with one of today’s most famous families in the most unexpected way—starting with a TV movie called A Circle of Children in the 1970s.
When Child Actors Become Family
Working on the special needs school drama, Patrick and his brother, MatthewLabyorteaux, met a family of three acting sisters. The eldest was serving as legal guardian for her youngest sister, but had to leave early for a date with one of the Jackson brothers. Patrick’s mother stepped in as temporary guardian, sparking a lasting friendship between the families.
Years later, when Patrick was 17 or 18, he reconnected with the middle sister, who invited him to their Bel Air home. The oldest sister was visiting from New York with her new baby, and everyone was naturally drawn to the adorable infant.
“So what do you do with a baby? Everyone was holding the baby, I held the baby,” Patrick recalled with a smile. “The baby’s really cute, good job with the baby, wow, what a cute baby.”
