Kate Gosselin Responds to Son’s Heartbreaking Claim With Just 3 Words originally appeared on Parade.
Kate Gosselin has responded to her son Collin Gosselin‘s claims that he was “forced” apart from his seven siblings.
“Born to be a team, us against the world…” Collin wrote over a photo of himself with his siblings when they were young. “Forced to do it alone, and wonder every day what our lives could’ve looked like,” he wrote over a picture of himself driving a car.
Although Kate has been very particular with what she chooses to give attention, she did respond to a fan who brought up Collin’s post in the comments section of her recent TikTok titled, “Kitchen Talk and Tips.”
The fan shared a screenshot of Collin’s TikTok video to which Kate responded, “he knows why” along with a sad face emoji.
Kate, 50, was faced with more than two dozen additional comments about Collin. Some people supported Kate while others shamed her. At least one person stuck up for Kate in a way that elicited another response from the former reality star.
“How do you know what happened… You are assuming and assuming just makes you an arsehole. With the amount of children this woman has, why would she just walk away from one? Perhaps there were issues that put the other children’s lives/mental health at risk and at the time, she had the resources to get him the best help possible. It may be a decision she regrets but at the time it may have been the best alternative because God knows the father was off blowing lines off strippers stomachs, so that hero wasn’t around to help,” the comment read.
“Bingo,” Kate responded.
Kate has been estranged from Collin since he was about 12 years old. She has said that his behavior was unhealthy and she decided it was best to send him to Fairmont Behavioral Health Institute. In the years since, Collin has lived with his father, Jon Gosselin, and has spoken out about his mom in various interviews and social media posts.

While Kate has maintained that she did the best she could with the situation she was presented, Collin sees things much differently. The two haven’t spoken to one another in several years. Meanwhile, Hannah Gosselin has also gone to live with her dad in Pennsylvania, but is believed to have a relationship with Kate (on some level) and her other siblings.
The Gosselin family rose to fame on the hit TLC reality show, Jon and Kate Plus 8. Kate and Jon’s twins Mady and Cara will turn 25 in October while the sextuplets, Alexis, Aaden, Leah, Joel, Collin and Hannah, are all 21.
