Jonathan Scott just shared a rare glimpse at his stepdad duties
In an Aug. 12 Instagram post, the Property Brothers contractor wheels fiancee Zooey Deschanel’s two kids around an airport as they ride on top of their luggage

Jonathan Scott is transporting some precious cargo.
On Aug. 12, the Property Brothers star shared an adorable look at his stepdad duties while traveling. In a video posted to Instagram, the 47-year-old HGTV host wheels two carry-ons through an airport terminal. But riding on top of those suitcases were Zooey Deschanel’s two kids: Elsie Otter, 10 and Charlie Wolf, 8.

“Anybody else love taking care of ALL the baggage 🥰,” Scott wrote in the caption.
The post, set to Jack Johnson’s “Better Together,” received lots of love in the comment section. HGTV alum Egypt Sherrod even left three crying-laughing emojis.
The New Girl actress, 45, shares her kids with ex-husband Jacob Pechenik. The couple welcomed daughter Elsie in July 2015 and son Charlie in May 2017. Although the couple split in 2019, the two share a healthy co-parenting relationship.
Since the divorce, Scott, who proposed to Deschanel in August 2023, has taken an active role as the children’s “bonus dad.”

In a June 2023 interview shared with PEOPLE, Scott admitted it wasn’t an easy role to step into.
“One thing that was a struggle early on was that the kids didn’t necessarily run up and jump in my arms and give me a big hug,” he explained. “I also remember several times where they’d be out with other kids and someone would say, ‘Oh your daddy’s so funny,’ and they’d be like, ‘That’s not my daddy, he’s my Jonathan.’ So that would hurt a little bit.”
He added: “In their mind, it’s not a mean thing to say — it’s how they know me.”

The post came a day before the couple celebrated the two year anniversary of their engagement.
On Wednesday, Aug. 13, both the Chasing the West host and the Elf actress shared their favorite relationship memories on Instagram. In Scott’s post, he put Deschanel’s multicolored stone engagement ring front and center.
“Oh how time flies when you’re in love. 🥰. Aug 13th, 2023…I put a 💍 on that finger. Guess we should figure out this 👰🏻♀️🤵🏻 ❤️❤️❤️❤️ love you @zooeydeschanel,” Scott captioned the post.
Meanwhile, Deschanel wrote in her caption, “I love him. Like… a lot. Happy Anniversary❤️.”
“Love you back….like a LOT 😍,” Scott replied in the comments.

Despite their lengthy engagement, the couple has “not actually made any plans yet” for a wedding, Scott said during an interview with PEOPLE earlier this month.
“We’ve just been having so much fun traveling with the kids and filming and stuff,” he said.
Scott explained that they’ve recently spent time in Italy and France and even got some “beach time” in. He noted that he and his fiancee try to visit Europe “every single year.”
