Fake footage circulating on social media shows President Donald Trump falling in the grass, but it isn’t real.

An image posted on X on Aug. 10 appears to be artificially made, as it shows a blurred Trump in the grass, as if he had just fallen. The post had 1.5 million views on X as of Aug. 11 shortly after noon. In the bottom left corner of the image, it says “Trump is in the Epstein files.” Replies to the image show some have used Grok to turn the image in to a video using artificial intelligence. The videos show Trump crawling in the grass, but they are fake, too.

Aritificially created images and videos have spread misinformation about Trump multiple times in his second administration. But Trump has also shared some AI visuals, including a fake video of former President Barack Obama being arrested and an AI picture of Trump as the Pope.

Trump falling footage is fake. Here is the real one

The recent images and videos on X may be fake, but a clip of Trump tripping up the steps of Air Force One earlier this year went viral.

After talking to reporters in Morristown, New Jersey, on June 8, Trump boarded the plane on his way to Camp David. Secretary of State Marco Rubio was traveling with him and also appeared to trip while climbing the stairs.

On March 19, 2021, former President Joe Biden fell while climbing the steps of Air Force One, which his press secretary at the time blamed on the wind, according to ABC News.

Trump and his allies used that clip repeatedly in campaign ads like “Jugular,” “Who Is Laughing Now,” and “Not A Young Guy,” painting him as unfit to serve another four years in the Oval Office.

Trump and Biden are the oldest presidents to have been sworn into office.
