Nostalgic 2000s Band Reunites for First American Concert in 15 Years originally appeared on Parade.

Early 2000s power-pop band The Click Five surprised fans in Los Angeles on Saturday, August 9, 2025, by reuniting for their first American performance in 15 years. The rockers played their Billboard Hot 100 hit “Just The Girl,” and fans are brimming with nostalgia!

Three of the band’s members — Kyle Patrick, Joe Guese, and Ethan Mentzer — took the stage at Emo Nite’s Beach Bash, and the event shared a fun video of the performance with the caption, “Just the return we were lookin for… Welcome back @theclickfive!!”

“We have not played a show in America in 15 f–king years, but somehow they got us out of hibernation,” said Patrick. “We f–king love you, L.A.!” They then did an all-acoustic version of their biggest hit, and fans were thrilled.

“I would have cried,” said one commenter, while another added, “Wuttttt. I haven’t heard this song since my iPod classic went out of commission.” Another added, “I WAS SHOCKED! I haven’t listened to them in FOREVER!” while a fourth leaned into their nostalgia, writing, “I first saw you and the [Jonas Brothers] open up for Backstreet Boys at PNC 20+ years ago. So wild.”

The rockers formed the group in 2004 with a lineup that originally included Guese and Mentzer, plus lead singer Eric Dill, Ben Romans on synth, and Joey Zehr on drums. Just one year in, they signed with Atlantic Records and released “Just the Girl”, which was written by their label-mate Adam Schlesinger of Fountains of Wayne. It quickly skyrocketed up the charts, peaking at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in September 2005.

They started opening for major tours, including Backstreet Boys, Ashlee Simpson, and Jesse McCartney. Unfortunately, they weren’t able to recapture the magic of their first big hit and earned the dreaded “one-hit wonder” title. Dill left the band in late 2006 to pursue a solo project, and Patrick stepped in. They formally broke up in 2013, but maintained some popularity in Asia. In 2019, Patrick told CNN Indonesia that they’d consider reuniting “if there is the right opportunity and offer.”

That came in late 2024, when it was announced they would perform alongside Boys Like Girls and Secondhand Serenade at an event in Manila. In January 2025, they announced a limited Asia-only tour with five stops. Now that they’ve finally performed in America again, fans wonder if they’ll do the same stateside.
