A Reddit user claims their neighbor on a plane woke them up because they took a teams call at an inopportune time

An upset passenger is putting their fellow traveler on blast after they allegedly took a call in the air.
Reddit user @br0princess took to the platform on Aug. 4 with a post entitled, “New absurd behavior: Teams meeting from flight.”
The original poster (OP) claims they were on a 6:15 a.m. flight from San Francisco to Atlanta where everyone “clearly got up early to make the flight.”
“I’m prepared to catch some more sleep with my neck pillow, eye mask and earplugs,” the OP began.
But much to their dismay, their seat neighbor had early morning business to attend to.
“At 8:30 am PT this woman next to me wakes me up from TALKING on her Teams meeting, on camera,” they wrote.
They added: “I can tell someone on the meeting was shocked that she joined given that she’s obviously on [a] plane.”
“But it was an important meeting,” the noisy neighbor said out loud to her coworkers. “I didn’t want to miss it.”
The OP says they were “fuming” thinking that people had lost their minds and “basic courtesy.”

“If it was that important, maybe don’t fly during your in-person account meeting to review your marketing statistics for your client,” they wrote.
“And of course, no flight attendants walking by to tell her off,” they finished the post.
The poster later provided an update on the same day saying they got up and alerted the flight attendant.
“She immediately came and spoke to the passengers who claims she’s not on the meeting but only working,” they wrote. “I’m pretty confident she’s lying since she seems to still be doing the same thing she was while on the meeting.”
“I’m just waiting for the Teams box to pop up again,” they added. “She’s definitely just listening and taking notes now.”
Viewers of the post left some suggestions on what to do in the comment section.
“Join the meeting,” a comment with more than 1,200 upvotes said.
Another wrote: “She’s making a public call. You’re part of the public. Chime in! ‘That’s a great suggestion!’ ‘Not a good idea. John in accounting said we could get sued for that.’ ‘Hey, that guy is cute. Is he available?’”

Others questioned the legality of answering a video call on a plane.
“It’s against federal regulations to do this,” somebody said.
In October 2018, the Federal Aviation Administration Reauthorization Act of 2018 stated “The Secretary of Transportation shall issue regulations – to prohibit an individual on an aircraft from engaging in voice communications using a mobile communications device during a flight.”
