With Kurt Cobain and Tony Hawk as his grandfathers, Frances Bean Cobain and Riley Hawk’s son, Ronin, is already iconic.
Frances, 32, shared a photo of the 10-month-old baby boy cuddling with Riley, also 32, via her Instagram Story on Thursday, August 7. In the black-and-white shot, Ronin held his dad’s cheek and pressed their faces together as they cuddled. Frances covered their son’s face with a sleeping emoji.
“True love,” she captioned the sweet image.
In addition to his famous parents, Ronin has celebrity connections via his grandparents. Frances is the only child of the late Kurt — who died by suicide in 1994 at age 27 — and Courtney Love, while Riley is the eldest of Tony’s four kids. Tony, 57, shares Riley with ex-wife Cindy Dunbar as well as Spencer, 26, and Keegan, 24, with ex-wife Erin Lee and Kadence, 17, with ex-wife Lhotse Merriam.

Frances and Riley tied the knot in October 2023 and welcomed Ronin in September 2024.
In July, Riley explained how the couple have carved their own path amid their families’ looming legacies.
“We just do our own thing. We don’t really think too much about it, honestly, other than the fact that we do stuff like this with a video game, or whatever it may be, or something regarding her side of the family,” he told People while discussing his involvement with his dad’s new skateboarding video game. “But other than that, we’re just a very quiet stay-at-home family. We just hang out.”
While Frances’ father is not around to see his grandson grow up, Riley emphasized how present Tony is in Ronin’s life.
“My dad helps a lot and it’s really cool that we get to all hang out together,” he said. “It’s just a cool thing for him to get to hang out with his grandson a lot. That’s kind of where we’re at, just taking it day by day.”
