Even Ms. Rachel isn’t immune to the occasional social media faux pas.
Speaking on the Aug. 7 episode of the “Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce” podcast, the 42-year-old YouTube sensation and mom of two — whose real name is Rachel Griffin Accurso — admitted to accidentally ignoring an A-list star who’d reached out to her on Instagram.
Describing herself as “an elder millennial,” Accurso told Kelce: “I’m not amazing with Instagram, so I didn’t know about the ‘requests’ and ‘top requests.’ So I ghosted some people for, like, months.”
She continued: “I’m not a cool person who knows a lot about celebrities, so when I saw a ‘@badgalriri,’ I was like, ‘This person has so many followers.’ And then I was like, ‘This is such a cute little profile picture because it’s a drawing.'”
She had “no idea” the account belonged to the Grammy-winning “Umbrella” singer Rihanna, who’s also a mom to two kids.
“I asked people who were around — I was like, ‘Do you know who this is?’ And then I realized it was Rihanna,” Accurso said. “I was like, ‘Wow.’ That was crazy.”
Accurso, known for her signature headband, overalls, and higher-pitched voice that engages little ones, is a go-to resource for many parents of young children.
She and her unparalleled cheery demeanor started rising to fame in 2020 with her “Song for Littles” YouTube videos, which teach toddlers letters, shapes, colors, and nursery rhymes.
The concept has evolved into a bona fide Ms. Rachel empire for the former teacher: the YouTube channel amassed at least 16 million subscribers and boasts videos that regularly pull in hundreds of millions of views, a Netflix streaming deal, several books, and a toy line.

Despite being a tried-and-true parenting guide for many, Accurso also experiences her parenting struggles.
“I was staring at (daughter Susannah). She was around three months, and we’re staring at each other. … She’s not sleeping, and she’s just, like, looking at me,’ Accurso told Kelce. “And I was like, ‘This is my time to shine. I’m Ms. Rachel. It’s time for a song.’ And then I couldn’t think of any! … I went blank.”
“She’s a tough audience sometimes,” she admitted of her second-born child.
