Some brides are harder to please than others. Case in point? The bride who started a “screaming match” with her cousin because she showed up to the wedding in a blue dress. (The bride was wearing white.)
“I wore a sky blue cocktail dress to the wedding because it was a beach wedding so I thought it would be nice to wear that, but my cousin got mad,” the wedding guest later wrote on Reddit. “She accused me of trying to one up her in her own wedding and trying to steal the attention.”

It will perhaps come as no surprise that the cousin was confused by the bride’s outburst. For context, she wrote that the woman was wearing “a white lace wedding gown with a white cathedral length lace veil,” while the bridal party wore “cream.” Other guests wore “wore blue, yellow, pink and orange.”

The Reddit user added that, in terms of her own outfit, “I’m not even wearing a necklace, earrings and heels either since my cousin would think i’m trying to one up her.” She also provided a link to her dress.
Nevertheless, the conversation devolved into a “screaming match,” during which “my aunty, uncle and my cousin’s partner had to pull her away because she wouldn’t stop yelling at me.” The cousin eventually went home to “avoid drama.”

Other Reddit users were quick to condemn the bride’s behavior in the comments section. “I think the obvious answer is you are attractive and she is not. At least in her own head,” one wrote. “You were showing her up by simply showing up 🤷♂️.”
Another expressed disbelief at the bride’s reaction to the blue dress: “I can’t imagine what other dress would be more perfect or appropriate to wear,” they wrote. “Like ..it’s a very decent semi modest dress with the longer length, cute, blue like the ocean. Cousin is nutso.”
