It’s officially summer vacation time, and not just for the average citizen. Some of the royal families of Europe are taking a little break too, this month. August is, after all, traditionally the time when the British royal family takes a bit of quiet family time, and this year, the Spanish royals have also opted to take their annual family trip to Palma de Mallorca during this time.
Yesterday, the royal quartet of King Felipe, Queen Letizia, Princess Leonor, and Infanta Sofia were out and about in Palma de Mallorca. The family attended an exhibition by artist Joan Miro, then headed out for private dinner—in the process once again proving that when it comes to nailing summer vacation style, nobody does it better.
While the king kept things simple in a cobalt blue button down and summer white trousers—with espadrilles, of course—the ladies of the family extrapolated on Queen Letizia’s go-to casual summer dressing formula. All three of the women opted for long, breezy dresses in summery colors and prints.

For Letizia, this was a shirred cotton maxi dress by Boss Orange with subtle ruffling at the neckline and corset-style details at the bodice. The pink shade she sported is currently sold out, but the same cut is still available in black and an on-trend butter yellow. She completed her look with a matching clutch and flat, ivory espadrilles.
Her daughters, meanwhile, chose prints for their looks, with Leonor, the Princess of Asturias, going for a palm-patterned sleeveless maxi in sage green and cream. Taking a cue from her mother, she paired the look with saddle brown espadrilles and laid back gold jewelry. Sofia, meanwhile, wore a slightly shorter cut with an ankle-skimming ochre and pink ikat-print dress with elbow-length sleeves and a cut-out back. Sofia broke from the family espadrille trend, instead wearing a pair of strappy brown sandals, not unlike the styles she, her mother, and sister sported last week during their trip.
