Olivia Colman and Benedict Cumberbatch had plenty of laughs while filming The Roses.
On Tuesday, Aug. 5, Searchlight Pictures released a blooper reel, shared exclusively with PEOPLE, featuring, in one moment, Colman, 51, screaming while holding a gun at Cumberbatch, 48, as well as another instance showing Cumberbatch “resetting” his own prop by spitting water back into a glass.
The Roses follows “picture-perfect” married couple Theo (Cumberbatch) and Ivy (Colman) whose relationship begins to crack when Ivy’s career takes off while Theo is fired from his job as an architect.

“These are the funniest people in the world,” Ncuti Gatwa says of the star-studded cast that includes comedic icons Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, and Kate McKinnon.
“How the f— did we get them?” Colman asks with a laugh.
“Life seems easy for picture-perfect couple Ivy and Theo: successful careers, a loving marriage, great kids,” reads a synopsis for the movie. “But beneath the façade of their supposed ideal life, a storm is brewing – as Theo’s career nosedives while Ivy’s own ambitions take off, a tinderbox of fierce competition and hidden resentment ignites.”
Directed by Jay Roach with a script by Tony McNamara, The Roses is a reimagining of the 1989 film The War of the Roses, based on the novel by Warren Adler. It also stars Belinda Bromilow, Sunita Mani, Jamie Demetriou and Zoë Chao.

A trailer for the film released in April shows Theo growing frustrated by his lack of career success. The couple begin to bicker, argue and eventually begin to move through with a divorce. As resentment grows between Ivy and Theo, their plots to mess with each other grow worse — culminating with Ivy pointing a gun at her husband in one moment.
