Original ‘Righteous Brothers’ Member, 84, Duets Iconic ‘Dirty Dancing’ Song With Daughter and Floors Fans With Voice originally appeared on Parade.
In 1987, Dirty Dancing premiered in theaters nearly 40 years ago on August 21, it became one of the highest-grossing films of the year and was almost and instantaneous zeitgeist with it’s controversial themes. The movie was centered around music, and without a doubt the final scene’s song “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” was the most iconic.
Originally sung by Bill Medley, 84, and Jennifer Warnes, 78, the song perfectly captured the film and was the ultimate soundtrack to one of the most legendary moments in cinematic history. Medley’s deep, luxe voice is a huge part of what made the sound so successful. Four decades later, it sounds basically the same.
Singing the hit with his daughter, Medley belted out his familiar lines with ease and deep bass, delighting long-time fans.
“Younger folks don’t realize what a legend this man is,” lamented one fan.
“He was always amazing even at 84! He looks fantastic,” noted another.
“Amazing voice. Gives me goosebumps the memories,” said another.
His daughter McKenna Medley, 32, also received high praise for her voice as she effortlessly filled in Warnes’ lines.

Though Medley just released a new album (the first in two decades) in February, the occasional show is all fans can expect from him. The Righteous Brothers are currently on their “Lovin’ Feelin’ Farewell Tour.”
“I’ll be 85 this year,” Medley told AZ Central of his decision to slow down. “You never get tired of doing the shows. But the traveling gets tough. It’s gonna take a couple of years to unwind it, because we have contracts to fulfill, but yeah, it’s getting to that time.”
