Liam Neeson slammed actors who show up to set late in a new interview
“I would never work with those people. I think it’s so insulting,” Neeson said, adding that actors should give film crews “respect by turning up on time”

Liam Neeson has no time for tardiness.
In a new interview with Rolling Stone, published on Monday, Aug. 4, The Naked Gun star, 73, shared his thoughts on actors who show up to set late.
“I hear disturbing stories about actors and actresses who are very gifted, but show up on the set two, three, four hours late,” Neeson told the magazine. “I would never work with those people. I think it’s so insulting.”
Punctuality, the Taken actor added, is “very, very important, I think. Because you have a crew of like 60, 70, 80 people waiting for you.”
“The very least you can do is give them the respect by turning up on time,” Neeson added.

The topic of tardiness on set arose as Neeson discussed the skills he has gained throughout his decades-long career. (Specifically, he was responding to a question that called back to his iconic Taken line: “But what I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career.”)
“Certainly with acting, you’re always questing. You know what I mean?” he told Rolling Stone. “I never feel I’ve done it. There’s always stuff to learn, with different actors and actresses you’re working with, as well as different directors.”
As far as skills go, the actor continued, “I just try to be real. And show up on time. That’s very important.”
Neeson’s latest acting endeavor is The Naked Gun, which he stars in alongside Pamela Anderson. A source previously told PEOPLE that the actor and actress are in “in the early stages” of dating. Anderson, 58, and Neeson’s other Naked Gun costars did not appear to fall into the group of tardy actors he discussed in the Rolling Stone interview. Instead, he offered high praise for the cast of the remake.
“In The Naked Gun, I was surrounded by terrific actors and actresses, especially Pamela Anderson. She’s outstanding in the film — she’s sexy, funny and just great to work with,” Neeson told the outlet.

The Love Actually star has previously shared similar high praise for Anderson and her work ethic. He raved about working alongside the The Last Showgirl actress in his 2024 PEOPLE cover story, stating, “With Pamela, first off, I’m madly in love with her. She’s just terrific to work with.”
“I can’t compliment her enough, I’ll be honest with you,” he added at the time. “No huge ego. She just comes in to do the work. She’s funny and so easy to work with. She’s going to be terrific in the film.”
The Naked Gun features Neeson as Frank Drebin, Jr., the son of Police Squad lieutenant Frank Drebin, who was first played by Leslie Nielsen in the original 1988 film and its sequels. Anderson stars opposite Neeson as femme fatale Beth Davenport.
