Underrated 2010s Law Comedy TV Series Getting a Second Chance on Netflix originally appeared on Parade.
Netflix is giving a hidden gem television series a second chance in September as it adds Franklin & Bash to the platform.
The TV show, which ran for four seasons on TNT from 2011 to 2014, will be added to Netflix on Sept. 1 with a slew of other shows and movies. This is the first time the series will be available to stream on Netflix.
Franklin & Bash stars Mark-Paul Gosselaar from Saved by the Bell as Peter Bash and Breckin Meyer as Jared Franklin, two up-and-coming lawyers and best friends who start at a high-profile agency together.
The show follows the two men as they take on interesting cases, challenging the system and their coworkers’ patience. Also in the cast are Malcolm McDowell, Kumail Nanjiani, Garcelle Beauvais, Heather Locklear and more familiar faces.
According to What’s on Netflix, Netflix acquired Franklin & Bash for a multi-year licensing deal, and the courtroom comedy show is distributed by Sony Pictures Television.
For fans of the show, it has been difficult to stream for years. While Franklin & Bash has been available to buy on platforms like Amazon Prime and Apple TV, it has not been available to stream in its entirety like Netflix’s format, making this an exciting opportunity for fans, new and old.
Netflix has brought unexpected success to other older, underrated shows like Suits, and it could do the same for Franklin & Bash, so fans of the 2011 series should be sure to tune in next month.
