Wings, Beaks and Bravery: A Free Unit Plan on Eagles for Kids!

Bald eagles, renowned for being a majestic symbol and national bird of the United States, are distinctive animals with their recognizable contrasting white head, brown feathers, and massive wingspan. Found gracefully soaring the sky and building their nests in expansive, tall trees, bald eagles are remarkable hunters, utilizing their sharp beaks and talons to catch prey.

In our five-day unit plan, students will become literary and scientific investigators, diving deeper into a bald eagle’s physical characteristics, where they live, their carnivorous diets, what traits make them birds, and specific challenges that they continue to face. The unit plan includes five days of comprehensive, engaging lesson plans, instructional materials, comprehension questions, activity worksheets, writing prompts, graphic organizers, children’s book suggestions and more!
