The St. Louis husband and wife who attracted national attention for brandishing guns as they tried to defend their homes from Black Lives Matter protestors now possess their semiautomatic rifle again.

Police seized weapons belonging to Mark and Patricia McCloskey five years ago.

As reported by the New York Post on Sunday, Mark and Patricia McCloskey now have their AR-15 back.

“It only took 3 lawsuits, 2 trips to the Court of Appeals and 1,847 days, but I got my AR15 back!” Mark McCloskey posted to his X account on Friday, along with several photos of him carrying the gun. (RELATED: ‘We Need More Idiot Control’: John Kennedy Knocks Down Calls For Gun Bans)

“We defended our home, were persecuted by the left, smeared by the press, and threatened with death, but we never backed down.”

Mark McCloskey later posted a video of him retrieving the AR from the police property room.

Mark McCloskey went on to say that he expects police will return the pistol sometime next week. His wife famously held that gun during the confrontation.

The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department took possession of the AR-15, while the St. Louis Sheriff’s Department took the pistol, according to the Post.

The McCloskeys, in a 2010 Daily Caller op-ed, wrote that “defending life at all stages, protecting the right to bear arms, and ensuring freedom of speech are battles that have to be won. If we don’t act now, our history may be lost forever.”
