Arnold Schwarzenegger celebrated another year around the sun by getting his cardio on.
Schwarzenegger, who turned 78 on Wednesday, July 30, shared a video of himself riding a bicycle on Instagram to celebrate and thank his fans and followers for birthday wishes — though he also noted that he doesn’t find turning 78 as exciting as a milestone number like 75 or 80.
“Ah, well, today is my birthday,” Schwarzenegger said in the video, as he rode his bicycle into the frame. “I am 78. I mean, it’s not an exciting day. I have to say that because around a number like 75 or 80 is much better, much spicier, but nevertheless, here we are.”
“Driving around, bicycling, getting my fitness workout done, and then I’m gonna lift some weights and I’m gonna eat some good food and all those kinds of things,” he said of his plans for his birthday. “Then tonight we’re going to celebrate. Thank you very much for all the happy birthday wishes – for all you members of the Pump Club, you guys have been terrific. I love you and let’s continue on working to get better.”

Celebrities, like Chuck Norris and Mario Lopez, chimed in on the comments to wish the fellow action star a happy birthday. Additionally, the Terminator star’s son-in-law, Chris Pratt, shared three photos of the actor and former politician spending time with his and Katherine Schwarzenegger’s children to his Instagram Stories to mark the day. “Happy birthday to the one and only @schwarzenegger!! The best grandpa and father-in-law out there. Here’s to many more!” he wrote.
On Wednesday, Katherine, who has been married to Pratt since 2019, shared a number of photos with her father over the years to her Instagram, including a childhood snapshot of her father placing “bunny ears” over Katherine’s head with his fingers as they rode horses. “Happy birthday daddy! King opa! We love you,” Katherine, 35, wrote in the caption to her post.
Schwarzenegger shares daughters Katherine and Christina, 33, and sons Patrick, 31, and Christopher, 27, with ex-wife Maria Shriver, whom he divorced from in 2011 after 25 years of marriage. Schwarzenegger also shares youngest son Joseph Baena, 27, with former housekeeper Mildred Patricia Baena.
