Catherine Zeta-Jones is speaking out about the biggest accomplishment she and husband Michael Douglas have achieved ahead of their upcoming 25th wedding anniversary
The Wednesday actress jokingly told Entertainment Tonight of reaching the milestone, “And they said it’d never last!”

Catherine Zeta-Jones can’t wait to celebrate her 25th wedding anniversary with her husband, Michael Douglas, later this year.
While speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the Wednesday season 2 premiere in London, U.K., on Wednesday, July 30, Zeta-Jones, 55, joked about the couple’s upcoming milestone anniversary, “And they said it’d never last!”
Zeta-Jones and Douglas, 80, tied the knot on Nov. 18, 2000, after getting engaged in December 1999.
The power couple first met in 1998 at the Deauville Film Festival, where Douglas immediately knew Zeta-Jones was the one after watching her as Elena Montero in The Mask of Zorro. He asked his publicist to arrange a meeting, and the rest is history.

In terms of the biggest accomplishment she and Douglas have achieved through the years, Zeta-Jones insisted it’s their two children: son Dylan, 24, and daughter Carys, 22. Douglas also has an older son, Cameron, 46, from his previous marriage to Diandra Luker.
“I think that what we’ve accomplished, and I think both of us will say the same, I’m not speaking just for myself, is our children are truly wonderful,” Zeta-Jones told ET.
“The joy they bring us, and now they’ve flown the nest, the joy that we have together,” she added to the outlet.

The Welsh actress said of her busy work schedule, “I’ve been working a lot this year and he’s been so supportive,” adding, “It’s a big milestone, 25 years, and we’re excited.”
“I think we’re going to be doing a party around the holidays,” she told the outlet, saying she’s been busy shooting season 3 of Wednesday, in which she plays Morticia Addams.
Zeta-Jones’ comments come after she celebrated her and Douglas’s 24th wedding anniversary in November by sharing multiple snaps from their special day on Instagram.
She captioned the post, “24 years ago, I said, I do. Happy Anniversary darling Michael. Our love is like a hole in one… You have to see it to believe it♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️love you.”

Douglas also shared a wedding day snap of the pair on Instagram at the time, writing in the caption, “24 years ago my darling; wow was I a lucky guy! Happy Anniversary Catherine! ❤️ @catherinezetajones.”
As well as having two kids together, Zeta-Jones and Douglas also share a birthday — Sept. 25 — and last year, the actress had a special surprise for her other half.
“In my birthday suit,” she captioned a naked picture of herself on Instagram.
“After over 25 years of sharing my birthday day with my husband, I am running out of gift ideas!” she added.
Zeta-Jones went on to explain that her sexy snap was “gift option two,” saying that “golf balls” were “option one… of course.”
