Heather Rae El Moussa may have left Selling Sunset after season 7, but she teased that fans may get to see her in season 9 and future episodes.
“If I was to ever go back, it would be with Selling Sunset [and not Selling the OC] — just because that was my group,” Heather, 37, exclusively told Us Weekly in an interview published on Thursday, July 31. “We were all an office and friends before Selling Sunset was even a show.”
Despite currently living in Orange County with her husband, Tarek El Moussa, and their 2-year-old son, Tristan, Heather explained that there’s a specific reason she would only consider returning to the Los Angeles-based show. “I have a rapport with them, I have loyalty with them and I have a lot of history with them,” she said of the Selling Sunset cast. “So if I want to go back, it would be Selling Sunset and not Selling the OC.”
Heather was among the show’s original cast alongside fellow Oppenheim Group co-workers Chrishell Stause, Mary Bonnet, Jason Oppenheim, Brett Oppenheim, Maya Vander and Christine Quinn. The show’s debut season in 2019 became an overnight sensation, though Heather chose to leave the show to dedicate more time to her and Tarek’s HGTV projects including The Flip Off, Flipping 101 and The Flipping El Moussas.

“It’s almost not as difficult [to watch the show now],” Heather said of the show’s newer episodes. “Because I’m not part of it, I get to watch from the sidelines as a fan as opposed to being in it. But I might make a cameo in this coming season. So you have to stay tuned.”
After she teased her season 9 cameo, Heather gave fans hope that they haven’t sees the last of her on the Netflix show. “We’ll see. Let’s get the fans asking for it,” she said. “Maybe I’ll come back.”
