Seth Rogen is sharing his thoughts with PEOPLE about Jax Taylor’s departure from The Valley
As a big fan of the reality series, Rogen says he agrees with the decision for Taylor to leave after years of proving that he is not “going to change”

Seth Rogen is chiming in on the latest Bravo drama.
The comedic actor, 43, spoke with PEOPLE at the season 2 premiere of his show Platonic in Los Angeles, where he shared his opinions on Jax Taylor’s exit from The Valley. A self-proclaimed Vanderpump Rules superfan, Rogen says he agrees with the 46-year-old reality star’s move to step away from the cameras.
“I don’t think Jax should come back at this point,” Rogen admits. “He’s a pretty, maybe, just bad person. We can say that he’s been that way for 20 years on television or however long it’s been — he doesn’t seem like he’s going to change. He seems no better. Maybe he seems worse the older he gets, I think, in a lot of ways.”
“I did watch the first episode of the reunion already this morning, and, I mean, he was so f—– up,” the actor continues of the recent episode, in which Taylor’s estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright, accused him of “body-shaming” her and not contributing to their family’s mortgage or bills. “What a f—— asshole. Yeah, a very bad, bad, bad character. Yeah.”

While Taylor is leaving an empty spot on the VPR spinoff, Rogen jokes he’d have no problem filling in.
“Maybe, if there’s a role, I would,” she reveals. “Yes, if there’s a role, I would.”
Taylor announced that he was “stepping away” from The Valley ahead of season 3 on July 16.
He claimed the decision was made “after an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers.”
“Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and co-parenting relationship,” he said in the statement shared with Variety. “Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself — especially for our son, Cruz.”
A source later told PEOPLE that the “cast was absolutely blindsided by this news,” and “were not given any advance notifications about his exit.”

This came almost a year after Cartwright filed for divorce in August 2024 following five years of marriage.
Shortly after their separation, Taylor entered an in-patient facility in September 2024 after he revealed he was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and PTSD. Then, in March, Taylor opened up about going to treatment for substance abuse issues.
On July 23, Cartwright, 36, said during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen that she thought Taylor’s departure from The Valley “was a great decision. By everyone.” Host Andy Cohen echoed her sentiment in a statement to PEOPLE when the news broke, also calling it a “good decision.”
“I think he needs to work out s— without cameras around,” Cohen, 57, added.
However, Cartwright noted that her own relationship with Taylor, with whom she shares 4-year-old son Cruz, is “horrible” and there is “no trust whatsoever.” She also pushed back against his claims in June that he was 201 days sober and is regularly drug tested.
“He’s sober from some things, but not all things,” she said on WWHL. “I’ll just say that.”
