Iconic Soap Star Announces New Role At ‘The Young And The Restless’ originally appeared on Parade.
Fans of The Young and the Restless have been wondering where Elizabeth Hendrickson‘s Chloe has been, but the actress has now revealed she’s taken on an exciting new role on the popular CBS daytime drama.
Hendrickson took to Instagram to share the news, posting photos and announcing that she has made the move from in front of the camera to behind it and after an 18 month journey, her first episode as a director will air next week.
The actress told her story through her caption, sharing, “After 24 years in front of the camera, I’m thrilled to be able to tell you all that I’ve stepped behind it.
I’ve spent the past 18 months up in the booth, shadowing, observing & absorbing — not knowing if it would ever turn into something more. There were hurdles but I kept showing up, paying attention, and fell in love with the process.
On Tuesday the 5th my first episode will air. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did directing it. The privilege (and pressure 🙂 of working with two giants of our genre, Eric Braeden and Melody Thomas Scott, on my first day was not lost on me.
I have been supported every step of the way by my Y&R family…the amazing cast and crew.
I have deep gratitude for so many people from Y&R, Sony and CBS.
Huge thanks to Josh Griffith, our Executive Producer and Head Writer, who greenlit my goals from the start. Danielle Unger, Renée Villafan, Matt Olsen, Jonathan Fishman, Vivianne Gundaker, Robbin Phyllips, Matt Kane, Jill Farren Phelps…..It took support and determination from so many.. and I got it. And to Owen Renfroe — the best teacher and mentor I could’ve asked for — thank you for your time, wisdom and belief in me.
