The Real Housewives of Miami star said she doesn’t stand by what her wife said on social media

Julia Lemigova is clarifying her views on surrogacy after her wife Martina Navratilova shared some controversial comments on the topic earlier this month.
In the middle of July, Lemigova’s former tennis pro wife shared a now-deleted post on X and wrote, “Surrogacy is just wrong. Sometimes you can’t have it all.” On Thursday, July 31, the Real Housewives of Miami star, 53, appeared on Watch What Happens Live and was asked by host Andy Cohen about Navratilova’s comments.

“That’s a question? For me?” Lemigova began. “Well, you know, Martina and I share a bed, but we don’t share a brain. And we not always agree on different views, but I believe in surrogacy.”
“You know, it was kind of put out of context,” she continued. “And I completely disagree with her comments.”

Lemigova and Navratilova welcomed two sons through adoption last August after nearly 10 years of marriage. Lemigova also has two daughters from two previous relationships.
“We are over the moon recognizing the challenges and the rewards for everybody,” Navratilova shared in a statement with PEOPLE at the time.
In November, Lemigova spoke to PEOPLE about how she’s been feeling since growing her family with her wife.
“I’m sleep-deprived but so happy,” Lemigova told PEOPLE at Bravo Fan Fest 2024 in Miami. “It’s becoming a reality because it’s only been three months, but it’s been a very intense, loving, incredible three months.”

She went on to say that adding little ones to the mix has changed one thing in her marriage with the tennis star.
“When we got married, [Navratilova] promised me, one of her vows was she would get off social media a little bit because she’s constantly on Twitter [now X] and that it took her how many years of marriage to actually be less on social media because of the boys because now she has no time,” said Lemigova.
But she assured, Navratilova “loves it.”
“She’s making pancakes in the morning, taking them to school,” Lemigova said. “She’s so energized. When we first got them, we thought we are saving them, but in reality, we’re both saving each other. And seeing them, like waking up in the morning with their little faces and what joy it brought into our life. It’s like [being] a new mother again all of a sudden after being an empty nester.”
