A Cincinnati councilwoman appeared to celebrate a brutal beating caught on video, claiming the white victims “begged for that beat down.”

The 3:00 a.m. brawl, which has since gone viral, shows a mob — largely black — stomping and punching a white man and woman outside a downtown bar. The man is seen bloodied on the pavement. The woman, who tried to intervene, was knocked unconscious. Some attackers shouted racial slurs during the assault, the Daily Caller previously reported. “They begged for that beat down! I am grateful for the whole story,” Councilwoman Victoria Parks appeared to comment on Facebook, responding to footage of the Saturday attack.

Calls for Parks to resign mounted this week, with Cincinnati Fraternal Order of Police president Ken Kober and Republican Ohio state Rep. Phil Plummer among those demanding she step down.

Five people have been charged so far, with more arrests expected, Cincinnati Police Chief Teresa Theetge said.

“Let me be clear,” Theetge said at a Monday press conference. “Anyone, anyone who put their hands on another individual during this incident in an attempt to cause harm will face consequences. I don’t care which side of the incident or the fight they were on. If they place their hands on somebody in an attempt to cause harm, that is unacceptable.”

Republican Ohio Sen. Bernie Moreno blasted the city’s handling of the attack and posted graphic photos of the female victim, Holly, who was hospitalized after the assault.

“She wanted to have a nice evening out with friends,” Moreno wrote on X. “Instead, she got this. Holly gave me permission to release the photos so that others will never suffer what she did.”

“We need and deserve change,” he added.
