Two iconic sweet treat brands are finally giving the public what they want.
On July 30, Reese’s and Oreo brands announced they’re teaming up on two new products that dessert devotees are sure to devour: the Reese’s Oreo Cup and the Oreo Reese’s Cookie.
“We’ve seen the comments and DMs,” reads a press release from the brands. “You’ve twisted, you’ve dipped and you’ve combined the two flavors on social media.”
The brands note that for years, fans have mashed the two treats up on their own on social media — and now, they’ve have decided to make the flavor mashup official.
Here’s what we’re working with:
-
Oreo Reese’s Cookie features two Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies filled with a Reese’s peanut buttery creme with Oreo cookie crumbs.
-
Reese’s Oreo Cup features milk chocolate and white creme peanut butter cups with Oreo cookie crumbs.
Michelle Deignan, VP of the Oreo brand, U.S., said the company is “constantly looking” for how to “disrupt the snacking market” — and this collaboration delivers on that.
Dan Mohnshine, VP, U.S. confection marketing for the Hershey Company, which owns Reese’s, added that this isn’t “just another product launch,” considering Oreo and Reese’s are owned by two different parent companies. Regardless, the “two legendary brands” decided to come together to make something “absolutely unprecedented that’ll blow minds and taste buds everywhere,” he said.
