Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris are combining their talents in a special way.
Ballerini, 31, has confirmed that the two country singers have written music together for the first time following fan speculation.
“Maren and I haven’t had the chance to catch up in years, and we’ve both had so much life that’s happened,” the Tennessee native told People.
“We’ve recently just reconnected and I’ve always really looked up to her songwriting and her musicality, and we’ve never written together. So I was like, ‘Come on down to Charleston. Let’s write,'” she continued.
The “Cowboys Cry Too” singer revealed the duo had “three days of girl time” in Charleston, South Carolina.
“[It was] me, her and Alysa [Vanderheym], and we wrote and we went to dinners. It was not work. It was much more play than work,” Ballerini told the outlet.
The news comes nearly a month after the country stars teased a collaboration on TikTok, much to the delight of fans.
“This better be a hint at a collab happening I swear!” one fan commented on Ballerini’s July 2 TikTok video that featured Morris, 35.
At this time, it is unclear when their new music will be released, though fans have plenty of separate Ballerini and Morris content to enjoy in the meantime.
Morris released her fourth studio album, Dreamsicle, in May. The deluxe version is set to be released on August 1.
The Grammy Award winner announced the news on Instagram on July 25 and also dropped the track, “be a b—h.”
Fans went wild in the comments, with one writing, “Wow….this is GOLD!!!! I have listened three times already.”
“Think we have finally found our song of the summer!!” another said.
“A Deluxe version…am I dreaming?! THESE LYRICS AND THIS CHORUS is literally what dreams are made of,” a third commented.
Ballerini released Patterns (Deluxe) in March. The original hit shelves in October 2024 and marked her fifth studio album.
When the five-time Grammy Award nominee announced the deluxe version on Instagram back in February, fans could hardly contain their excitement in the comments.
“It’s coming so soon too!!!! I’m wayyyyyy too excited!!!!!” one wrote.
“I’m ready to scream cry all these songs in my car! Thank you for unpacking with all of us,” another said.
“This album is amazing! So excited,” a third commented.
