A wedding guest is catching flak for her outfit choice.
A Redditor shared two photos of a wedding guest on Reddit’s “Wedding Shaming” forum that showed the groom’s brother’s girlfriend wearing a “near white” gown to the event.
The Reddit poster wrote that the dress code for the event was “summer pastel” chic, and the guest claimed her dress was sage green. However, she noted that it “in no way, shape or form appeared to be sage green, or any other color.”

The first picture in the thread shows a woman in a white-presenting dress standing at a table decorated with white and pink flowers and glasses of wine. Her dress has off-the-shoulder sleeves and matching flowers along the top half.
Next, the criticized guest is seen walking from behind while carrying a sheer veil. The dress is starkly a different color than her sage green shoes.
The Reddit user clarified that the guest was carrying her daughter’s flower girl veil in the second image.
As for the guest’s bold outfit choice, she wrote, “This was after the [mother-in-law] had asked the bride if she could wear a white jumpsuit to the wedding,” adding that the bride “obviously said no.”
People in the comments section criticized the wedding guest for wearing what appeared to be a wedding gown to the nuptials.
“I’m not even a stickler for wedding etiquette, but this is crazy,” one person wrote. “Does anyone say anything to people like this? Because I would. I would make it a thing. Probably for years. I have no problem burning bridges. Not because you broke the dress code, but because she is clearly a horrible person.”

Another person asked if the Reddit user was joking, adding, “I cannot understand how that is remotely green. How rude.”
The Reddit user responded, “I wish I was joking,” and revealed additional details about the wedding. She explained that the bride “wore a gorgeous wedding dress and veil” that was unmistakable from the guest and the event was “intimate.”

A third commenter proposed that the bride asks her photographer to make a few creative choices when editing the photos from her big day. “I would have the photographer photoshop the dress a different color but not say anything,” they wrote before suggesting that the couple then hangs a “big photo” and wait for the guest to say something.
Another said that the wedding faux pas could’ve been avoided with a better dress code. “This is why pastel dress codes are the dumbest thing ever. You will unintentionally end up with guests wearing some ultra light colored dress that will without a doubt photograph white,” they wrote.
