Maternity style certainly isn’t what it used to be—it’s better. Stars like Rihanna and Karlie Kloss have shown us that dressing while pregnant doesn’t have to be drab, but rather, it can be chic and a whole lot of fun. Now, Vanessa Kirby is coming to save the day with her maternity fashion.
The Oscar-nominated actor is in the midst of promoting her new superhero flick, The Fantastic Four: First Steps, during which she’s pulled out a series of fits that have been, in a word, fantastic.
The action movie had its world premiere on Monday, and this morning, the Crown alum hit the streets of New York City to attend a series of press engagements. During the busy day, she showed us her many different takes on how to master dressing for a baby bump.
To kick things off, Kirby arrived to a taping of Live With Kelly and Mark, where she stepped out in a sky-blue bodycon dress from Alaïa (a brand that is beloved by fellow pregnant star Rihanna).
The draped design featured an asymmetrical tulip skirt, with a high slight and strong ruching going up the side. Kirby paired the short-sleeve piece with matching metallic heels from Aquazzura, and she completed the look with cat-eye sunglasses from Givenchy.
It’s no secret that this fit winks to the color scheme of her film’s titular superhero squad, but later on, Kirby showed off her darker side, switching into a black halterneck dress, also from Alaïa, that featured open-weave details along the neck.
For this look, Kirby draped a black blazer over her shoulders, while adding a few coordinating accessories, including a Ferragamo Hug bag and strappy obsidian sandals from Aquazzura.
Kirby then traded her jersey halterneck dress for an open-knit cage midi from Alaïa in black, which she accessorized with a top-handle bag from Givenchy. Here, the strappy sandals stayed, and the blazer remained draped over her shoulders.
Finally, the English actor rounded out her day of fashion with a more casual fit, which consisted of a Nanushka leather puffer paired with high-rise barrel jeans from Rag & Bone. She also finally gave her feet a break by slipping into a pair of black high tops from Converse.
The actor is currently expecting her first child with fiancé Paul Rabil—news which she revealed back in May, at a Fantastic Four event in Mexico City, where she cradled her baby bump on the red carpet. Like her costars, she’s taking full advantage of this press run to make a few fashion statements.
