Hulk Hogan Dies Just Weeks After Radio Host Warned He ‘Might Not Make It’ originally appeared on Parade.
Death rumors about Hulk Hogan surfaced weeks before the wrestling icon’s death after a radio host claimed the wrestler was in the hospital and the situation seemed dire.
“It’s not good,” radio host Bubba the Love Sponge said during his morning show on June 18. “I got some pretty reliable information that there are phone calls being made to various family members about getting to town to come say your goodbyes.”
While Bubba said he did not “know this to be true,” he stated that he had “pretty damn reliable sources” who told him Hogan “might not make it.”
However, Us Weekly reported later that same day that the wrestling star had recently undergone heart surgery but was recovering.

“Hulk had pretty serious heart surgery a few weeks ago and was doing well afterward. It wasn’t a near-death thing,” the insider told the outlet and clarified that Hogan was “not on death’s door.”
TMZ also reported that Hogan’s health issues were nothing serious and instead, were more of the same ailments the former WWE wrestler has dealt with over the years. The publication stated that Hogan was “back to moving around already.”
This is the second time in just a month that rumors have circulated about Hogan’s health. In early May, the 1980s icon made an appearance on Fox and Friends, and his appearance shocked many of the viewers.
“He looks unwell,” one person wrote via X at the time, while another added, “He looks like death.”
Just two weeks later, TMZ Sports revealed that Hogan had had a “little fusion procedure” done in the hopes of feeling “a little better,” a rep for Hogan told the outlet on May 15.
However, surgery is nothing new for the WWE Hall of Famer. Hogan previously revealed that he’s undergone approximately 25 surgeries throughout his career, including a hip replacement, knee replacement and more.
Parade has reached out to Hogan’s reps for comment.
On July 24, news broke that Hogan had died at age 71. TMZ reported that medics responded to a call about a “cardiac arrest” at his home, and he was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
