Fire Alarm Disrupts ‘American Idol’ Alum’s Concert: ‘We’ll Hopefully Resume the Party Soon’ originally appeared on Parade.
Gabby Barrett’s recent concert at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts in Bloomington, Illinois, was met with an unexpected disruption on Friday, July 18.
Just minutes into her set, the country artist was pulled away from the stage due to a fire alarm that went off in the middle of her show. The “Pick Me Up” singer was just two songs into her set list when the sound rang out, but luckily no one was hurt.
The “American Idol” alum, 25, took to Instagram on Tuesday, June 22 to share the story with her fans. In a clip, she can be seen wearing a fashionable western-styled belt buckle over a blue dress with her hair in tight curls.

“OK, so currently, we are two songs into Bloomington and there’s a fire alarm going off. We had to clear everything, but we’ll hopefully resume the party soon,” Barrett explains in the video, which shows the songstress and her team making their way down a set of stairs as firetrucks arrive on the scene.
“Humble reminders right here,” Barrett joked in the video while tapping her finger onto a trash can, presumably referring to how celebrity lives aren’t always glitz and glamour.
“We’ve had somebody arrested, we’ve had a fire alarm, and we’re like, how many weeks into this? Six weeks? Come out!” Barrett says with a laugh before the end of the clip.
Barrett is currently on the road as part of her Life I’m Living Tour, which serves as her first major tour since 2022. For a complete list of tour dates, visit Gabby Barrett’s official website here.
