Meet the Real-Life Loves of “The Hunting Wives” Cast (Including the Couple Who Won an Oscar Together!)

Netflix’s salacious new series The Hunting Wives quickly goes from howdy to rowdy.

Based on the 2021 novel by May Cobb, The Hunting Wives follows Sophie O’Neil (Brittany Snow), a woman who moves to East Texas for her husband’s new job, and finds herself entangled in the world of an elite group led by the magnetic Margo Banks (Malin Akerman).

Speaking to Parade in July 2025, showrunner Rebecca Cutter described the title as “good soapy fun,” while also teasing that it navigates tricky situations.

“Hunting Wives is not afraid to get its hands dirty — unflinching in its exploration of sexuality, social dynamics, marriage, and political realities,” she explained. “But while it portrays characters on opposite sides of the culture war, there is no good guy or bad guy – because I love each of these flawed characters equally.”

The series features unconventional relationships, but what about the actors’ romantic lives off-screen?

Here’s everything to know about the real-life loves of The Hunting Wives cast.

Malin Akerman and Jack Donnelly

Malin Akerman plays Margo Banks, the leader of the Hunting Wives.

Off-screen, Akerman is married to fellow actor, Jack Donnelly. They wed in Tulum, Mexico, in December 2018, after announcing their engagement the year before, in October 2017.

The couple originally met through Akerman’s sister. “[Donnelly] is actually my youngest sister’s boyfriend’s friend from drama school in England. I had known him for the past four years but didn’t see him,” she said during an April 2018 appearance on Live with Kelly and Ryan.

“Then all of a sudden he came back from England like a year-and-a-half ago,” she continued. “And I went, ‘Wow, have you always been this cute?’ ”

Since then, Akerman and Donnelly have acted together in projects, including Friendsgiving, A Week in Paradise and Slayers.

From 2007 to 2013, Akerman was married to musician Roberto Zincone, with whom she shares a son, Sebastian.

Brittany Snow

Brittany Snow portrays Sophie O’Neil, who moves from Boston to Texas for her husband’s job.

It is unclear if Snow is currently dating anyone, but she was previously married to Selling the OC star Tyler Stanaland.

They wed in March 2020, and Snow officially filed for divorce in January 2023. That same summer, the actress and real estate agent finalized their separation in July 2023.

“I think everybody goes through really tough periods and then it’s all in our perspective and how we deal with it, right?” the Hairspray star told PEOPLE in June 2023. “Because nobody’s immune to tough periods in their life. And, all I’m trying to do is focus on myself and tune out the noise.”

Jaime Ray Newman and Guy Nattiv

Jaime Ray Newman plays Callie, a member of the Hunting Wives who is the wife of the town’s sheriff.

The General Hospital actress has been married to director Guy Nattiv since April 2012, per her IMDb.

They have two daughters, Alma Ness, born in 2018, and Mila Nico, whom they welcomed in 2019.

Notably, the couple worked together on the Oscar-winning short film, Skin. Newman was a producer, while Nattiv was the director and screenwriter.

The two celebrated when the title won for Best Live Action Short Film at the 2019 Academy Awards. They got up on stage and dedicated the win to their daughter Alma.

Evan Jonigkeit and Zosia Mamet

Evan Jonigkeit portrays Graham, Sophie’s husband.

In real life, Jonigkeit is married to fellow actress Zosia Mamet. The pair met in 2013 while starring in an off-Broadway play titled Really, Really.

They kept their relationship a secret from their cast members and admittedly, “did a lot of gaslighting,” they said on the Today show in July 2024.

The Girls star explained that she felt their romance “was probably going to last and be serious.”

Jonigkeit and Mamet went on to marry in October 2016, per The Hollywood Reporter.

Katie Lowes and Adam Shapiro

Katie Lowes plays Jill, a fellow Hunting Wives member wed to a reverend.

Away from the cameras, Lowes is married to actor Adam Shapiro. The two tied the knot in June 2012. They have two kids: a son, Albee, and a daughter, Vera Fay.

In June 2025, the couple told PEOPLE their secrets to a long-lasting relationship, which they revealed involved couples therapy.

“We’re both actors. Obviously. Couples therapy,” Lowes quipped. “We love to talk it out. We love personal therapy. Couples therapy. If therapy is in the word, we’re doing it.”

Shapiro added that traveling helps, as does humor, with Lowes noting, “He’s very, very, very funny.”

Chrissy Metz

Chrissy Metz portrays Starr, who finds herself outside of the Hunting Wives social circle.

The This Is Us alum is in a relationship, but has not revealed the identity of her mystery man.

In an April 2025 Parade interview, Metz explained why she hasn’t posted her boyfriend on her social media, saying, “[Sometimes] you have to keep some things for yourself.”

That same month, during an appearance on Live with Kelly and Mark, the Emmy-nominated actress revealed that she went to Nigeria to visit her boyfriend’s family. “They are the most beautiful, special, wonderful people,” she said.

Metz went on to describe a Nigerian welcome as, “Love, kindness, food. Some of it spicy, a little spicy for me.”

Dermot Mulroney

Dermot Mulroney plays Jed Banks, Margo’s wealthy husband.

In June 2025, the Chicago Fire star filed for divorce from Prima Apollinaare, his wife of 15 years.

The two started dating in 2008 and married in 2010. They share two daughters together.

Alexandria DeBerry and Tyler Beede

Alexandria DeBerry portrays Taylor.

DeBerry is married to professional baseball pitcher Tyler Beede.

According to the actress’ Instagram, the couple has been together since 2014. They wed in November 2017 and have two children.
