It’s a season of debuts, and this week all eyes were on Michael Rider’s inaugural Celine collection. Ours flitted from the new silhouettes on the catwalk to the ensembles sported by the attendees—most notably, their choices in footwear. One silhouette in particular dominated the cobblestone streets outside the venue: a stiletto-heeled mule.

Celine wasn’t the only show at which they surfaced. We’ve spotted high-heeled mules on the soles of many a showgoer this week. The Schiaparelli toe-heels were a favorite among couture attendees, as were the Paris Texas Lidia mules at presentations later in the week.

On a broader scale, the shape has surfaced on a range of celebrity Instagrams since the onset of summer’s heat. Kylie Jenner posted wearing a PVC pair from the Attico, paired with a slinky midi dress. Hailey Bieber wore a black leather pair with a green satin strapless dress. And Devon Lee Carlson tried a nude pair with a boho white mini dress, cementing the shoe’s status as a seasonal favorite.
