Nicole Scherzinger’s Triumphant Exit Leaves Her Forever Changed originally appeared on Parade.

Nicole Scherzinger wrapped up what she deemed had been a dream come true, and she felt quite emotional about it. The former Pussycat Doll member finished her time on Broadway, playing Norma Desmond in Sunset Boulevard, a role which earned her a Tony Award.

Ahead of the final show on July 20, Scherzinger shared her thoughts via an Instagram post. She admitted it was “almost impossible to grasp” that she was about to do her last show.

As Scherzinger noted, she initially joined the production for a limited run. That was extended, and now, almost 10 months later, it was time to say goodbye. “Norma has changed me forever,” she acknowledged.

She also wrote a special message for Sunset Boulevard director Jamie Lloyd. “Jamie, the ultimate brave pioneer, you have given us all new ways to dream. Thank you for showing me what is possible when you dare to be braver.”

After the show, Scherzinger shared highlights and additional thoughts in a string of Instagram Stories. She gushed over Lloyd again, noting he “never judged a book by its cover,” clearly referring to his willingness to have her step into the iconic role.

“All it takes is one person to believe in you and you believed in me,” Scherzinger continued. She added, “Thank you so much for showing us all what is possible when you dare to be braver.”

Scherzinger promised she would return to Broadway someday.

The day after her final Broadway show, Scherzinger joined The View to talk about her upcoming project, Netflix’s Building the Band.

Of her last Sunset Boulevard performance, Scherzinger said, “It was a triumph. It was one of, it WAS the greatest night of my life.”

She added, “Everything that I’ve worked so hard for and fought so hard for and dreamed of, it really came true.”

Fans gushed over Scherzinger in the comment section of her Broadway farewell Instagram post.

“I can see how happy you are Nicole. Can’t wait for the next chapter. Norma Desmond will live forever,” one fan wrote.

“Literally breathtaking every performance,” raved someone else.

Another fan shared, “Truly the greatest artist of our generation, congrats Nicole, there’s nothing you can’t do!!”

“You gave us new ways to dream,” read an additional comment.
